Vanderbilt Men’s Basketball (14-1, 2-2 SEC) returned to Memorial Gymnasium to face South Carolina (10-7, 0-4 SEC). It certainly wasn’t the best basketball the Commodores have played thus far, but a gritty, down to the wire ending would be enough to give the Commodores a 66-63 win, and their first SEC home win of the season. Jason Edwards, A.J Hoggard, Chris Mañon, Tyler Nickel and Devin McGlockton drew the start for Vanderbilt.
Women’s Tennis: Vanderbilt takes on South Beach at Miami Spring Invite

The No. 21 Vanderbilt Women’s Tennis team traveled to Miami, Florida, for the Miami Spring Invite from Jan. 10–12. The Commodores faced staunch competition in all three opponents — Oklahoma, Miami and North Carolina State — ranked in the top 25. Senior Celia-Belle Mohr and sophomore Valeria Ray led the way for the Black and Gold. Both Mohr and Ray finished the weekend with a perfect 3-0 record in singles play.

On Dec. 27, Vanderbilt Football will conclude its historic season against Georgia Tech in the Birmingham Bowl. The two have a storied past: They have met 38 times with the Commodores holding a 20-15-3 record in the series. Both programs were founding members of the SEC in 1934, though Georgia Tech departed the conference on June 30, 1964.

Vanderbilt Football learned on Dec. 8 that it would travel to Birmingham, Alabama, to play Georgia Tech in the Birmingham Bowl. Vanderbilt’s head coach, Clark Lea, spoke to the media about the selection and upcoming matchup later that evening. Just a few hours drive from Music City, the state of Alabama is a place where both Lea and his team feel comfortable playing. “Our team is excited to play this game,” Lea said.

Vanderbilt Football’s 2024 regular season has been nothing short of exciting. From the Commodores’ tragic loss at the hands of Georgia State to their sensational upset of former No. 1 Alabama, there’s been action all year on West End. With that action comes the return of something that Commodore Nation hasn’t experienced since 2018 — postseason play. Head coach Clark Lea and his team are going bowling, though the details — when, where and against who — of the game won’t be revealed until Dec. 8.

Vanderbilt Soccer’s historic season ended on the evening of Nov. 24 in the third round of the NCAA Tournament. The Commodores fell to No. 4 Penn State 3-1 in Tallahassee, Florida. This elimination came just 48 hours after Vanderbilt stunned the No. 1 overall seed — and defending National Champion — Florida State in penalty kicks. “I’m remarkably proud of this group,” head coach Darren Ambrose said in his Penn State postgame press conference.
