Antioch High School is on lockdown after shots were fired after 11:00 a.m. CST. The school is on Hobson Pike, approximately 18 miles southeast of Vanderbilt. Metro Nashville Schools announced the lockdown on X and that the Metro Nashville Police Department is on the active crime scene. According to police, the shots were fired in the cafeteria. Two students were shot by the suspect, who then turned the gun on himself.

Pavia sued the NCAA, seeking at least one more year of confirmed eligibility to negotiate NIL deals before the transfer portal opens on Dec. 9. 1 minute ago Judge William Campbell denied Diego Pavia a temporary restraining order today that would have allowed the quarterback to temporarily negotiate with Anchor Impact, Vanderbilt’s NIL affiliate, for the 2025-26 season while his lawsuit against the NCAA over eligibility is pending. Pavia sues NCAA over JUCO eligibility limitations

Diego Pavia, a rising star in the FBS and Vanderbilt’s starting quarterback, sued the NCAA today to challenge its “Five Year Rule” policy, Bylaw 12.8, in the 2024-25 NCAA Divison I Manual. He argues that the NCAA violates Section 1 of the Sherman Act, a federal antitrust law, by equating a year in junior college to a year at an NCAA school, thereby precluding athletes who transfer from junior colleges from the same “meaningful opportunities” under NIL.

Editor’s Note: This story mentions death. Metro Nashville Police Department received a call at 6:44 a.m. CDT reporting a corpse at 2401 Highland Avenue, the address of 25th Avenue Parking Garage. Students walking to class this morning reported seeing the body covered by a yellow tarp outside the parking garage. Police officers were on the scene and had closed off access to the area. Senior Tyler McMahon said he saw the scene while driving to campus for his 8 a.m. class.

No. 25 Vanderbilt Football has officially sold out all student tickets for this weekend’s game against No. 5 Texas. The news comes less than three days after Vanderbilt announced a new student ticketing policy that would provide priority access to fans who have attended three games. The initial email informed students that once Sections P and Q filled up, they would be given physical copies of tickets to other sections of the stadium, including the standing-room-only section of the North End Zone.
