Plans for a new Tesco have been labelled Stonehaven’s “last and only hope” for a supermarket, after a land developer’s 20-year grapple over the site. Drivers on the A9 have been told to brace for three years of delays with new 24/7 average-speed cameras to be installed from next month. New 40mph limits are to be enforced on a stretch between Tomatin and Moy from July 1, to coincide with upcoming dualling work. The cameras are to be in use until completion of the works – currently scheduled to finish in Spring 2028. The new restrictions are set to slow traffic on the busy Inverness to Glasgow route for just under three years.
