Orange County Commissioners on Tuesday unanimously voted to authorize $ 5 million in general revenue dollars to share the cost with Orlando in the construction of a permanent Pulse memorial. It would honor the 49 killed and dozens wounded in the massacre at the nightclub in the early morning hours of June 12, 2016. The total cost for the project is estimated at $ 12.5 million, with the city picking up the bulk of the cost.

A Central Florida couple is suing after they paid a landscaper thousands of dollars for work that never got done, and now the landscaping company has apparently disappeared. Nick and Susan Perfido of Seminole County hired Florida Landscape Living LLC of Maitland to do some major work in their yard. "We're going to have a fire bowl here, actually a fire table," Nick told WESH 2 while pointing to a pile of dirt outside his home.

A man who had his life sentence commuted in 2021 by President Donald Trump at the end of his first presidential term is fighting to keep his freedom following an arrest in Orlando in 2023. Jaime Davidson was convicted of murder in the death of a Syracuse, New York, police officer, Wallie Howard Jr., in 1990. His sentence was commuted by Trump in 2021 after several witnesses recanted their testimonies.
