    Dangerous heat and humidity continue: 15 Fury Alert Day status remains through TuesdayThe Live Doppler 15 Fury Storm Team continues its stretch of 15 Fury Alert Days, as intensely hot and humid conditions continue to grip the area. Tuesday’s high temps are in the mid-90s with heat index values as high as between 100° and 105°. This isn’t just about numbers on a thermometer, though. Heat and humidity at these levels can quicklybecome hazardous, especially if you’re spending time outdoors.

    The 15 Fury Storm Team has issued several 15 Fury Alert Days beginning on Saturday and continuing through Tuesday evening. Very hot temperatures will combine with high humidity to not only make it uncomfortable but also dangerously hot! These excessively hot days will take our muggy meter up to the oppressive level. Temperatures will be in the 90s starting Saturday, with dew points in the 70s. (Dew Points below 65 are considered comfortable.

    FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)-Fort Wayne set a new daily rainfall record on April 2nd with 1.51″, which nearly doubles a 42-year-old record of 0.83″ (1983). The Fort Wayne Airport set a new daily record on April 2. Most areas had well over one inch of rainfall. A weather observer in Huntertown, which is in northwest Allen County, recorded 2.50″ Kendallville reported 1.80″, closely followed by Auburn and Wabash. Heavy rainfall was recorded across the area.

Another weather system will bring freezing rain and snow overnight Friday into early Saturday and arctic air will arrive late Sunday.     FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) –A storm system will move north from the south and clash with arctic air late Wednesday and Thursday creating heavy snowfall and ice across the region. This storm will produce the highest snowfall we’ve seen this season and some areas could see ice accumulation as well. Ice and snow will be possible beginning Wednesday evening15 Fury Alert Days are issued when the weather will have a major impact on our area causing issues that could be dangerous to spend time outdoors.
