    FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A teenager faces a murder charge in connection to a fatal shooting in southwest Fort Wayne. Thursday, a man was shot near the intersection of Rudisill Boulevard and Tacoma Avenue. Fort Wayne police officers found him in a church parking lot where he was pronounced dead. The person responsible was nowhere to be found, and leads took investigators as far as Ossian to search for evidence. Eventually, police identified a 17-year-old as the suspect.

    FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — The head of Fort Wayne and Allen County’s 911 services has resigned. David Bubb, the Executive Director of the Consolidated Communication Partnership (CCP), resigned Friday morning, according to attorney John Feighner. He’d been suspended with pay for the past several weeks, but the reasoning is unclear. A CCP meeting had been scheduled for Friday morning to review Bubb’s job performance. Those in attendance did not comment on the nature of Bubb’s suspension or resignation.

    FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – As the summer heat continues to build, Fort Wayne Public Works is reminding homeowners to set out trash cans ahead of time in preparation for earlier pickups. Fort Wayne officials said in a press release that residents are encouraged to set out garbage and recycling cans the night before collection day, since GFL Environmental will start picking up an hour earlier during days that reach 90 degrees. A 5 a.m. start time will most likely begin in the coming weeks.

    ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – A northbound exit ramp for Interstate 469 was shut down Friday morning after a semitrailer caught fire near New Haven, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation. The exit ramp at mile-marker 20.8 between Lincoln Avenue and Old U.S. 24 was temporarily closed shortly before 9 a.m. Traffic appeared to be backed up on the interstate from S.R. 930 to U.S. 24. The ramp was reopened later that morning.
