FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – With an incoming blast of cold air, Monday and Tuesday, January 20 and 21, will be 15 Fury Alert Days. The cold air starts to arrive over the weekend with temps falling through the day both on Saturday and Sunday. However, air temperatures will not reach below zero until late Sunday night/early Monday morning. Wind chills in the Monday and Tuesday time frame will be below zero all day with values ranging from -10° to -20°.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The final measurements from this week’s early December winter blast are in. Due to the scattered nature of lake effect snow, some spots received higher totals than others. The snow fell from Wednesday night and kept going, at times, through late night Thursday (early Friday AM). As expected, the highest amounts fell to the north/northwest of Fort Wayne. In northeast Indiana, the highest total of 4.0″ came from Brushy Prairie in LaGrange County.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – This year’s fall season ranked as the 3rd warmest and 4th driest of all the fall seasons on record, dating back to 1897. According to the data and analysis, released by the National Weather Service Northern Indiana Forecast Office, the highest temperature of fall 2024 was 92°back on September 21 with the lowest being 15° on November 30 – making an impressive 77° span over the course of the season. More than 70° separated the fall season’s highest temp and lowest temp.

High temperatures today were much different than yesterday’s highs around 60°. Highs reached only the low 40s, much closer to seasonal averages. For the evening, we’re experiencing temperatures falling out of the 40s and into the 30s. By morning, we’ll be as low as the low 30s. Our next weather system is moving in tonight and our sky becomes cloudy, again. Tomorrow starts off precipitation-free, but rain will be headed in to some spots by the afternoon and evening.
