FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – As we see the date of our latest ever measurable snow in Fort Wayne arrive, this signals the end to the snow season here in northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio. May 10th, 1945, is the latest we have ever picked up measurable snowfall in the Summit City, with weather records dating back to 1897. With warm temperatures in store for the foreseeable future, we can confidently say we are done with snow until the fall.

A crowd gathered at the Auer Performance Hall at Purdue Fort Wayne as the Fort Wayne Area Community Band marked the occasion with a performance. A proclamation was read by the City of Fort Wayne declaring May 6th, 2025, as “Fort Wayne Area Community Band 45th Anniversary Day.”The Fort Wayne Area Community Band celebrates 45 years of music Tuesday night.

If you’re getting weary of this pattern, there is good news on the way…There’s been no lack of rain lately, as Tuesday marks the eighth consecutive day with a trace or more of precipitation having been recorded at the Fort Wayne International Airport. FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A cut off area of low pressure is set to bring us cool and unsettled weather this weekend across northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio. It has been two years since we last were stuck in the 50s in May. Our last May high temperature below 60 degrees in Fort Wayne was on May 3rd, 2023, when we only saw the mercury climb to 54°.
