LADUE — Collin Perry was happy to find his scoring touch. The senior guard led the Chaminade basketball team in scoring last season but came into action Saturday afternoon with just four double-digit scoring games this year and was averaging just six points a contest. But, after a scoreless first quarter, Perry went off for a team-high 19 points to help the Red Devils to a 76-54 win over Fort Zumwalt North in a Class 6 quarterfinal game at John Burroughs High’s Taylor Family Athletic Center.

Drew Pickering is no doubt savoring the last nine months as an athlete. The Lafayette junior pitched in the Class 6 baseball championship last June and will now make another return to state after he and the Lancers basketball team pulled out a 70-64 double overtime win over St. Louis University High in a Class 6 quarterfinal game Saturday afternoon at SLUH’s Danis Field House. “It’s something that words can’t describe,” Pickering said.
