Mazzuca was sentenced to 25 years in prison Friday in Albany County Court for the death of her newborn, an infant boy whose remains were found beneath Washington Park’s statue of Moses nearly 30 years ago. COPAKE - Authorities are investigating after a twin-engine transport plane crashed around noon Saturday in the town of Copake. The Associated Press cited a source close to the investigation Sunday who said all six people on board the aircraft died in the crash. Columbia County Undersheriff Jacqueline Salvatore told News10 ABC at a press conference Saturday that the sheriff's office was investigating a fatal crash that occurred in a muddy field near Two Town Road.

MALTA — Several state troopers were at the Ellsworth apartment complex off Route 9 late Wednesday afternoon. People outside the buildings were trying to get hold of people inside the apartments. In October, DEC officers raided Mark Longo’s Pine City home and animal rescue following multiple anonymous complaints about Peanut, a social media darling, who was seized from the home alongside Fred the raccoon.

CORINTH — The Corinth couple charged with child endangerment after their 3-year-old died last week violated an order of protection when they went to a home where their other children are staying, the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office said. The 33-year-old man and his 31-year-old wife were each charged with criminal contempt. The charges are misdemeanors as are the original charges filed after the toddler was found in the family home that code enforcement officials later condemned.

ALBANY — Passengers spent hours on the tarmac Monday after an Allegiant Air flight was delayed at Albany International Airport. Chris and Mary Plunkett, of Middletown Springs, Vt., said the three-hour long flight was supposed to board at 12:15 p.m. After changing gates three or four times, they finally got on the plane around 3:30 p.m. Then, they waited on the tarmac with their two children, aged 7 and 9, for around six hours.

Eastern upstate New York, New York City, its suburbs, and much of New England are under a winter weather advisory until 6 p.m. with a storm moving into the Northeast. In the Capital Region, snow and sleet with some freezing rain tossed in are expected to fall until 1 p.m. After that, the National Weather Service in Albany predicts freezing rain will continue until 2 p.m. The ice is not expected to accumulate so it seems widespread power outages will not be a concern.
