COLONIE — The owners of a Wolf Road hotel that housed migrants lost their appeal of a lower court’s ruling that allowed Colonie officials to enforce town code at the business. Migrants are no longer living at the SureStay Plus or any of the other upstate hotels that starting in the spring of 2023 were utilized by New York City to house them. But instead of ruling the matter moot, the Appellate Division of state Supreme Court proceeded with the case.

ALBANY - The former general manager of Albany Rural Cemetery pleaded guilty to grand larceny and identity theft almost a year after he was initially charged with embezzling nearly $32,000 from the nonprofit that oversees the historic necropolis where a former president, business tycoons, war heroes and others are buried. David M. Eslinger, 58, actually stole a sum closer to $40,000, according to a release from the office of Albany County District Attorney Lee Kindlon.
