    ALBANY — Air quality in the Capital Region and the Hudson Valley is steadily improving. Smoke from Canadian wildfires left much of upstate listed in the "unhealthy for sensitive groups" category Sunday, according to the state Department of Environmental Conservation. The Adirondack Mountains had the worst air in the state, just one point away on the air quality index of being unhealthy for anyone to breathe.

    WATERFORD — A Troy police officer fired a single shot at a suspect on Saturday after the person allegedly fled a traffic stop in a stolen vehicle and led police on a high-speed chase, according to the Troy Police Department. Police say the suspect led officers on a high-speed chase through the city of Troy. The chase continued over the bridge into Waterford and ultimately ended on Division Street in Waterford, police said.

    ROTTERDAM — Police are seeking information after a brawl outside a Hamburg Street bar turned into a shooting early Saturday morning. Police were called just before 2 a.m. to Fritz’s Taproom for a reported shooting after an argument turned physical in the parking lot, Rotterdam police said in a news release. During that fight, an unknown person shot one of the people involved, police said.

    BETHLEHEM — A 37-year-old Albany man was killed in a one-car crash on Krumkill Road Monday morning. Bethlehem police said the driver, Ryan T. Collins, was traveling west near 185 Krumkill Road when his vehicle crashed into a utility pole around 5 a.m. Collins was pronounced dead at the scene.
