MALTA — Several state troopers were at the Ellsworth apartment complex off Route 9 late Wednesday afternoon. People outside the buildings were trying to get hold of people inside the apartments. Residents said they heard what they believed were gunshots and the sprinkler system went off. Article continues below this adParamedics and an ambulance are at the scene. A second ambulance was seen headed north on Route 9.
