POLK COUNTY, Fla. - An unlicensed contractor, wanted after a Deltona customer was scammed out of nearly $15,000, was arrested in Polk County, the Volusia Sheriff's Office said. Argelys Virgilio Zambrano Andrade, 37, faces charges of contractor fraud, unregistered contractor, and fraud impersonating during a state of emergency. According to deputies, Zambrano took $14,950 in down payments from a Deltona customer for a kitchen remodel but never initiated any work.

ORLANDO, Fla. - There's a new chief of police at the University of Central Florida. Robin Griffin-Kitzerow brings with her more than 30 years of law enforcement experience. Griffin-Kitzerow will replace Carl Metzger, who will stay on as the associate vice president of public safety.Metzger has served as chief since 2018. President Alexander N. Cartwright calls the move a transition to strengthen campus security across all locations.

OCALA, Fla. - A train partially derailed on Thursday in Ocala, causing traffic delays. According to the Ocala Police Department, the derailment occurred in the 500 block of NW 10th Street. There were no reported injuries. As a result of the derailment, all eastbound and westbound traffic lanes on NW 10th Street, from Highway 441 to NE 8th Avenue, are currently blocked. Drivers are advised to seek alternative routes during, as the road may remain closed for several hours.

ORLANDO, Fla. - Two days after the Orlando Dreamers spoke publicly about their vision to bring an MLB team to Orlando, the Tampa Bay Rays announced they are possibly for sale. But not to the Orlando Dreamers. Instead, the Rays are in exclusive talks with another potential Florida-based ownership group. The deal, which was first reported by Sportico, involves Jacksonville billionaire Patrick Zalupski. If a deal is approved, reports show it will be worth more than $1.5 billion.
