EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Grass Lake’s softball team etched their names in the history books, winning the program’s very first state title after taking down Clare 5-4. Saturday’s state title game was another example of the Warrior’s poise under pressure. Grass Lake entered the top of the 7th inning down 2-1, however, the bats came alive stringing together a four-run frame. Emily Brown was 1-for 4 with 2 runs and Leilah Smith had 2 RBI.

OLIVET, Mich. (WLNS) — Olivet took down Watervliet 2-1 to punch its ticket to the state semifinals for the first time in program history. On Monday, the Eagles were out practicing ahead of their semifinal matchup with Marine City. Many of Olivet’s players have played at Michigan State’s McLane Stadium before, in the Diamond Classic. Still, with the stakes a little higher now, it’s an experience the team is looking forward to.
