    After one year at Michigan, Sam Walters is heading back to the SEC. Walters, a sharpshooting 6-foot-10 forward, announced that he’s transferring to Mississippi State for his junior season. He shared the news of his commitment on his Instagram page Thursday. Walters appeared in 23 games for the Wolverines this past season and averaged five points and 1.6 rebounds in 12.7 minutes. He was primarily a 3-point threat off the bench and knocked down 36.6% of his shots from beyond the arc (26-for-71).

    Danny Wolf achieved one of his childhood dreams by playing at Michigan. Now he’s looking to check the next lifelong goal off his list. Wolf announced Wednesday in a social media post on that he’s declaring for the NBA Draft after one season with the Wolverines. Wolf’s decision didn’t come as a surprise. Last month, coach Dusty May was asked about the balance of mining the transfer portal with an eye toward next season while preparing for Michigan’s Sweet 16 matchup against Auburn.

    Dusty May and Michigan basketball are adding another big man from the transfer portal from the Big Ten. One week after receiving a commitment from Illinois forward Morez Johnson Jr., the Wolverines landed a pledge from UCLA’s Aday Mara. The 7-foot-3 center shared the news in an Instagram story on Friday. As a sophomore this past season, Mara, who’s from Spain, averaged 6.4 points and four rebounds in a reserve role and shot 59% from the field in 33 games.
