DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa — President Biden’s tenth visit to Pennsylvania during his 2024 campaign left many with different opinions on his fit for presidency. CBS 21 shares reactions from both sides of the aisle. Some say they drove from Baltimore to come and support him. Others protested him with signs saying “you're fired.”Protesters against Biden waited at the bottom of the street from Biden’s appearance, waving at cars. They said they were shocked when they heard he was coming to Harrisburg.

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa — On Friday morning, Harrisburg police searched the Susquehanna River for guns after chaos erupted at the fireworks show Thursday night at Riverfront Park. The Harrisburg River Rescue team spent about an hour and a half searching the water near the Walnut Street Bridge for the gun. They used metal detectors in hopes of recovering the gun from the bottom of the river, however, they were not able to find it.

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa — In the city of Harrisburg, the police have reported a significant increase in fireworks over the past couple of years. The police say this is due to a change in state law, allowing the sale of stronger consumer-grade fireworks. As a result, more fireworks stores and stands have popped up, leading to greater availability. Despite being legal, these fireworks still pose substantial risks, including fires.

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa — For the week of Fourth of July, AAA expects to see five percent more travelers than last year, that’s around 71 million travelers. More people on the roads means more congestion and, unfortunately, more accidents and roadside breakdowns. CBS 21 spoke with Doni Lee Spiegel, the public relations manager for AAA Central Penn on some safety precautions people should take before hitting the roads.

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa — In our region, about 40 percent of fatal crashes and 30 percent of serious injury crashes involve impaired drivers, according to The Tri-County Regional Planning Commission. In response to these alarming statistics, the organization is launching a new initiative aimed at making our roads safer called the "Sober Ride Home" program. It is a pilot program funded by a grant from the Federal Highway Administration and the Safe Streets and Roads for All program.
