Tiny cottages – more than a hundred of them could be developed right across from Mullins Colony in Evans. Even without development, Mullins Crossing is a busy area and it may be getting busier. The planning commission hasn’t even weighed in on the new development yet, but here is what they are looking at later this month.

EVANS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Public hearings continue this week across multiple counties over the homestead exemption law that could impact your property taxes. More than 60% of voters in November said yes to the homestead exemption question on the ballot , which could put a cap on tax hikes on your home. The law establishes a floating homestead exemption, which limits the annual increase in property tax assessments on homestead properties to the rate of inflation for the previous year.
