    Oak Grove, La. (KTVE/KARD) — It is that time of year where many are excited to indulge in one of the most famous Louisiana cuisines, crawfish. Crawfish are a deli Cousy and not only are civilians thrilled for the season, but crawfish farmers are, too. Lil’ Pete Raymond is a local farmer from Oak Grove, Louisiana, who traps and sells crawfish. He owns 22 acres with two ponds where he traps, crawfish, raises cattle and bails hay.

    Rayville, La. (KTVE/KARD) — Christmas is in the air and in Richland Parish, they are celebrating the holidays with a special event for the community. The Rayville First Baptist Church is hosting a theatrical piece called, “Christmas Extravaganza,” on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 6:00 PM, and Sunday, December 15, 2024, at 5:00 PM. The production is a Christmas musical and drama featuring what most believe to be the true meaning of Christmas.

    Monroe, La. (KTVE/KARD) — Race into the holidays at the 2024 Jingle Bell Run. According to officials, the Louisiana Purchase Council is hosting their Annual Jingle Bell Half Marathon Run and 5K. The event will take place at 2401 Sycamore Street in Monroe, La. at Forsythe Park on Saturday, December 14, 2024, and will begin at 8 AM. Bob D’ Avignon, the Scout Executive and CEO of the Louisiana Purchase Council says it is a fun-filled event for the whole family.

    Start, La. (KTVE/KARD) — According to officials, the Start Baptist Church is hosting a free Thanksgiving meal to the community on November 28, 2024, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. The church wanted to give back to their community and Pastor Jeff said what better way to do then with a traditional Thanksgiving meal. Well we were sitting in on one of our deacon’s meetings recently and we were talking about our plans and activities for the week of thanksgiving.
