The budget proposal is currently in the Senate. “As we all know, there’s government waste. We all know that, but we also have a responsibility to protect our most vulnerable people. And that’s why we’re here,” says Mark Windham, Chief Executive Officer of Pinnacle Family Health. But some of those cuts may come at a cost to Louisiana’s healthcare.

Organizers are hoping for the biggest year yet! Their record is 721 participants set a few years ago. As of 7:30 a.m. this morning, just over 600 people signed up. MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Lumen Technologies, formerly CenturyLink, just sold part of its business to AT&T. Lumen originally started as CenturyTel in Oak Ridge, Louisiana. Then, transformed to CenturyLink, moving its headquarters to Monroe. That building, now known as the Clarke M. Williams Innovation Center, was donated to ULM from Lumen. The wireless company posted the sale on its website for $5.75 million.

MONROE, La. (KNOE) - We’re highlighting black rat snakes in today’s Zoo Buddy!The Louisiana Purchase Gardens and Zoo in Monroe has a baby rat snake in their education department. This guy was found in Richland Parish. General Curator Lisa Taylor says they’re also known as chicken snakes. “Typically, baby rat snakes are this brown color to help them camouflage, and it makes them look like rattlesnakes,” explains Taylor.
