What started at a small town radio station in a city that was a lot smaller three decades ago, a Christmas fundraiser grew to serve tens of thousands. In 2024, the KONY Coins for Kids drive is again seeking community support for the more than 500 Washington County families that volunteers assist with Christmas gifts annually. Morning radio host on 99.9 KONY Country Amy Chesley told St. George News that the community spirit of giving only gets stronger as the annual event continues.

Motorists traveling Interstate 15 on Thursday night saw a scene of multiple police lights and bright lighting used by incident response teams cleaning up spilled fuel. St. George law enforcement arrested a husband when emergency responders arrived at a medical call on Sunday night. Due to evidence found at the scene, the man was arrested for felony aggravated assault and murder. WASHINGTON CITY — In front of a standing-room-only crowd, the Washington City Council heard arguments for and against the first development proposing to use a bar overlay zone ordinance approved in 2022. According to the ordinance, civic leaders can approve up to three bar licenses in a proposal for a “bar establishment in designated overlay zone” application in retail and commercial areas. Without a zone change approval, one only bar per 20,000 residents is allowed in Washington City.
