Spring is here, bringing warm weather, flowers and Southern Utah’s largest car show — the 40th annual Hurricane Easter Car Show. Organized by the Hurricane Valley Rotary Club, the Easter Car Show has been an amazing opportunity to rally support for important causes locally while spending time with family and friends, organizers said. Officials expect more classic cars to be registered this year than last year, dozens of food and beverage stands, and many vendors selling crafts and varieties.

An early Sunday morning crash that began with a wrong-way driver on Interstate 15 fleeing a trooper concluded with three occupants from two vehicles going to the hospital, Utah Highway Patrol reported. On Feb. 16 at approximately 2:18 a.m., emergency dispatch reported a 2006 Cadillac traveling northbound in the southbound lanes, beginning at milepost 81 in Iron County.

What started at a small town radio station in a city that was a lot smaller three decades ago, a Christmas fundraiser grew to serve tens of thousands. In 2024, the KONY Coins for Kids drive is again seeking community support for the more than 500 Washington County families that volunteers assist with Christmas gifts annually. Morning radio host on 99.9 KONY Country Amy Chesley told St. George News that the community spirit of giving only gets stronger as the annual event continues.
