LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — Lynchburg leaders held a community information meeting for residents to see the major proposal, which will revamp the Link Road and Boonsboro Road intersection in the future. Lynchburg Public Works held the meeting at the Oakwood Country Club on Thursday night, just a few feet away from the intersection. 37 people came to hear about the $3 million project plans, ask questions, and give the department feedback on the proposed plans.

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is proposing to build a new roundabout at the intersection of Vassar Street, Rivermont Terrace, and Langhorne Road. According to VDOT Spokesperson Len Stevens, signs have been posted at the intersection informing drivers that this is a possibility. According to the VDOT website, this is just a proposed project, and nothing is set in stone.

AMHERST, Va. (WSET) — Republican Lieutenant Governor candidate John Reid stopped by the town of Amherst Tuesday evening to meet with voters in the area. The Amherst County Republican Committee hosted the event at the Briar Patch Tuesday evening for Reid to speak to those in the area about his plans if elected this November and for them to get to know who he is. Reid shared with the dozen people who attended about his life and why he chose to get into the race.

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — Lynchburg City School leaders have finalized a plan to help them move the division forward in the future and deal with the closure of T.C. Miller Elementary School. The Lynchburg City School Board voted last month to move forward with closing T.C. Miller Elementary School and repurposing the building into a pre-k hub. LCS Interim Superintendent Dr. Ben Copeland created this plan with the administrative staff.

This all started after Tuesday night's council meeting, where members discussed whether or not to go into closed session to discuss another council member's actions against all three council-appointed positions.
