KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — It's been months since Linda Meyers walked through the doors of Mosaic Breast Imaging for her first mammogram. The 44-year-old endocrinologist suspected a breast cancer diagnosis was inevitable given her family history. But she never expected it to be detected with the help of artificial intelligence. "I was filling out the paperwork, and it had this box that was like, 'Do you want AI to read your image for $20?' and on sort of a lark, I was like, 'Oh, why not?,'"Meyers said.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Cat Steele's morning routine has become a ritual. She packs meals for the workday and several vitamins to help regulate her hormones. "I have to be really mindful of things that cause inflammation in my body, because that can lead to a lot of really negative symptoms," Steele said. At 28 years old, managing her symptoms has been a struggle since she was first diagnosed as a teenager with Polycystic ovary syndrome—more commonly known as PCOS.
