Teenage girls are being controlled by their school boyfriends who demand photographic evidence of who they sit with in class, Scottish charities have said. Women’s support services have described girls aged 13 to 17 being tracked on phones by their boyfriends, or being told to check in with them as they move between lessons. The revelations were made at an event to discuss the impact of online pornography on the levels of violence experienced by young women.

The city council ceased licensing saunas and massage parlours in 2014, but continues to license three lap-dancing bars after an attempt to ban strip joints failed last year. Dalgety described these as "living porn" venues "where young women perform sex acts for groups of men in exchange for money".
