The 8.4-mile deep quake hit about 5 miles from Tonasket at 7:23 a.m., according to the USGS. More than 20 people from as far away as Coolin, Idaho, and Victoria, British Columbia, reported feeling the tremor to the agency. A man was kidnapped behind a Safeway in Washington and held captive for days, deputies said. The incident happened April 6 in Ephrata, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.
