Classic Atlanta soul food restaurant Busy Bee Cafe will open a second location in Atlantic Station next year. The nearly 80-year-old restaurant, designated an American Classic by the James Beard Foundation, announced the new location on social media Wednesday afternoon. The second Busy Bee will land sometime in 2026, but the announcement did not provide a specific opening date or location. Representatives for Atlantic Station said further information about the restaurant would be released Thursday.

R. Thomas Deluxe Grill, the long-standing, colorful restaurant on Peachtree Street known for the tropical birds by its entrance, will be sold by the family that founded it. Linay Thomas Sheltra, daughter of original owner Richard Thomas, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that she’s looking for a buyer who will be a good steward for her father’s business far into the future.

Ryokou, the new Japanese tasting-menu restaurant from chef Leonard Yu of Omakase Table, is one of the best restaurants in Atlanta. After opening in December, Ryokou has nailed down most of the essentials: The food is nearly impeccable, the beverage program is excellent and the ambiance feels special and luxurious.
