GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grieving families say a Grand Rapids estate sale company has been keeping the money after selling their dead loved ones’ household goods. The complaints against Eastown Estate Services and owner Mike Dykhouse have so far yielded a felony charge in Kent County, a civil judgement in Barry County and an F rating from the Better Business Bureau. Among the victims is the estate of well-known political activist Hank Fuhs, who died last year.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A building contractor is now in the Ottawa County jail, serving a five-month sentence for working without a license. It’s Ricky Lee Hartwick‘s third conviction for being an unlicensed contractor. An Ottawa County judge also sentenced him to three years probation and ordered he pay back more than $30,000 to a Hudsonville couple who have been living in a trailer while the work he did on their home is repaired.
