WINCHESTER, Ind. (WISH) — A Jay County judge is set to hear arguments in a Randolph County courtroom about whether to pause a part of the new state budget on Friday morning. A late addition to the budget would force the rural Union School Corporation to shut down. While the amendment states the district would dissolve by July 1, 2027, it also prevents administrators from taking on new obligations after the budget takes effect on July 1 of this year.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis Rowing was well represented on the national stage at a major competition in Sarasota, Florida, last weekend. Several rowers from the Indianapolis Rowing Center Juniors team competed at the US Rowing Youth Nationals on Saturday and Sunday. This year marked the 30th anniversary of the event. Despite the weather causing significant delays to the competition, two boats from the Indianapolis-based team secured podium finishes in different events.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — While the Pacers are fighting for their first-ever NBA championship, some of the team’s tiniest fans are fighting their own battle. Healthcare providers on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Ascension St. Vincent Women and Infants Hospital hope to help families stay positive by bringing team spirit for the Pacers. Staff decked out the rooms in the NICU with Pacers banners and are even dressing up the babies in Pacers gear for a photoshoot.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department announced on Friday that it helped conduct an operation that led to multiple arrests over the past week. It includes the arrests of 11 fugitives in connection with felony domestic violence charges. In total, the suspects face 35 criminal charges.
