In Dorchester, traders have been rejoicing after South Street was partially reopened following four months of closure in time for the Bank Holiday weekend- as well as this, Easter activities run by local traders have given the town a "boost".

The Lyme Regis Easter Bonnet Parade is returning on Sunday, April 20. The annual egg-stravaganza allows creativity to flow freely, with locals and visitors alike all donning their masterpieces as they make their way down Broad Street to Cobb Gate. Lyme Regis Regatta and Carnival is behind the quirky event.

The works (Image: Dorset Council documents) A country road is set to close to allow roadworks to take place. Westover Hill, Wooton Fitzpaine, will close between its junction with the A35 and the entrance to Stable Cottage, Rushay House - a distance of just over a mile. The closure will begin today (Thursday, April 17), until Friday, April 18 with the road closed between 8am – 5pm. The closure has been requested to allow Openreach to carry out new pole installation.

Wedding stock image (Image: Pixabay) A WOMAN ‘kicked’ and ‘headbutted’ hotel staff at a wedding she was a guest at then went on to assault a police officer, a court heard. Weymouth Magistrates Court was told that Grace Roberts, 28, was invited to a wedding at the Crown Hotel in Blandford when she began ‘throwing glasses’ and ‘shouting at guests’ at the reception.
