    COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho -- It was the end of an Era in downtown Coeur d'Alene on Wednesday. After over 100 years, the historic Johnston Building at the corner of Sherman Street and Second Avenue, was demolished on January 15. Streets were blocked off to make room for the moment when demolition crews brought down the building to make room for a new development. For the Johnston family, whose name the building carried, it was an emotional goodbye. In the 1940s, Ivan Johnston bought the building.

    SPOKANE, Wash. -- With less snow than usual, road crews in Spokane are taking advantage of the mild winter to tackle some projects they can't always get to this time of year. Crews are still de-icing and plowing Spokane streets as needed, but they've also been getting to some road repairs that usually have to wait until spring. Workers have been filling potholes, replacing road markings, cleaning streets and doing line work.

    SPOKANE, Wash. -- A local optical shop is changing up its business model to meet customers wherever they may be. Stahl Optical near 5th Avenue and Chandler Street on Spokane's South Hill is shutting its doors in favor of a mobile store. The store has been open since 1969. Owner and optician, Debi Camarda said it's time to innovate. "We're not going out of business or anything like that. We're just making it a new story to our existing one," she said.
