Kyle Blits A man is charged with murdering a man in West Dundee by beating him. Kyle Blits, 34, is accused of killing Thomas Hanetho, 65, of Hampshire. The incident happened on April 22, according to an April 23 press release from West Dundee police. Hanetho died of his injuries on May 1 at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

No criminal charges will be filed against the person who hit and killed a 5-year-old boy in the driveway of his St. Charles home. Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie Mosser announced her decision Wednesday. The boy was hit around 5:09 p.m. on May 27 at a house in the 4000 block of Royal Fox Drive. He was pronounced dead at Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital.

A person was shot during an armed robbery Monday evening near Aurora, the Kane County Sheriff’s Office reports. The robbery happened around 6:36 p.m. in the 800 block of Konen Avenue in Aurora Township, according to a press release. The release said a red Mitsubishi Outlander pulled up, and three people approached the vehicle and demanded the driver, a 31-year-old man, give them money and a cellphone. One person fired a gun, injuring a person’s right leg.

Anthony Ramirez A Wheeling man has been accused of luring two girls to an Elgin hotel and sexually abusing one of them. Anthony C. Ramirez, 26, of the 200 block of West Wayne Place, is charged with aggravated kidnapping — victim under 13 years old; kidnapping; aggravated criminal sexual abuse — victim under 13 years old; traveling to meet a minor; indecent solicitation of a child through the internet; grooming; and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, all felonies.

Richard L. Goodwin A man who killed a man during a drug deal in Hanover Park has been sentenced to life in prison. Richard L. Goodwin, 59, of Glendale Heights, was sentenced Monday to two life terms, to be served concurrently, by DuPage County Judge Ann Celine O’Hallaren Walsh. In January, a jury found Goodwin guilty of four counts of first-degree murder and one count of aggravated battery with a firearm. He was accused of killing Marek Krywko, 59, on Aug. 2, 2021.
