It took masonry business owner Pawel “Paul” Iwanski more than two years to build the house, which was completed in 2012. The five-bedroom, seven-and-a-half-bath house, which is in the 3000 block of Lincoln Street, features a master-bedroom suite that takes up about 2,500 square feet. The listing says the house is 12,000 square feet.

    Marmion Abbey plans to sell a chunk of its longtime home in Aurora to a housing developer. Roughly 21 acres on the east side of the abbey and Marmion Academy high school site would be sold to Pulte Homes, if the Aurora City Council approves a change in land use for the site and several variations from zoning requirements. The council is expected to vote on the matter at its next meeting.

    A sentencing hearing for a man who killed two of his friends when he slammed into the rear of a stopped school bus began with testimony about how he pleaded with deputies at the scene to take him to jail because “I did this. I killed them. I did this. It's all my fault.” The hearing for Tyler Schmidt began Wednesday with testimony from Kane County sheriff’s deputies who responded to the Oct. 31, 2022, crash on Empire Road near Campton Hills.
