OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) - The Owensboro community is remembering those who paid the ultimate sacrifice this Memorial Day with a walk to remember. The walk was a heartfelt tribute, with participants walking side-by-side carrying the American flag. Each step symbolized the unwavering spirit of those who served and gave their lives. While it was a bit of an emotional tribute for one Owensboro family, it was also a moment to reflect and remember their son who was killed in Afghanistan.

At Job Corps, students receive experience needed to earn a career or apprenticeship, go on to college or join the military all for free. The Earle C. Clements Job Corps Center in Morganfield is one of the nation’s largest facilities and employees over 300 people.

There’s a special School Board Public Meeting set to start at 5:30 p.m. They are looking for a replacement after Dr. David Smith announced earlier this year that he would be retiring this summer after 14 years as superintendent and 43 years with the EVSC as a whole.

TELL CITY, Ind. (WFIE) - For most students at Perry Central High School, their final exams involve putting pencil to paper. For the students in the Commodore Construction class, their final exam consisted of building an entire home for Habitat for Humanity. For the past school year, students at Perry Central have been hard at work building a new home in Tell City. Little did they know that they would be building it for someone that knew them when they were growing up.
