HARTSVILLE, Tenn. - District Attorney Jason Lawson of Tennessee’s Fifteenth Judicial District announced 12 inmates have been charged for their role in a riot at the state’s largest prison earlier in June. Their charges include aggravated riot, aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping and more. Lawson said he could not yet release the identities of those charged. The riot happened at Trousdale Turner Correctional Center in Hartsville, Tennessee.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Memphis police said they found homemade bombs during a drug search at a home in East Memphis. It happened Thursday morning on Spottswood Avenue, just off the University of Memphis campus. “That’s a little scary,” Audie Shepard, who lives nearby, said. Neighbors told FOX13 they were shocked when they saw squad cars pull into their usually-quiet neighborhood Thursday morning. Loved ones identified the victim as Shaton Cobb, owner of MTA auto shop on Winchester Road. “There were two victims on the scene,” Lt. MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A survivor of the mass shooting at the Memphis Allies anti-violence meeting is speaking out. The shooting happened in early April at an officer park in Hickory Hill. It killed one person and sent five others to the hospital. More than two months later, one person is charged in connection to the crime and investigators continue to search for the other suspects. “It was complete chaos,” Dwaine Coleman, who was at the meeting, said.
