Johnson, who was arrested in 1993, was a non-violent, first-time offender. After reality star Kim Kardashian pleaded the grandmother’s case, she received a full pardon. Today is a rare Pass It on, when WREG pays it forward to the same person twice. When we first me our honoree, the was being celebrated for showing kindness to a little boy with a brain tumor. Two years later, we meet up again, this time to help him as he battles his own health issues. We were there two years ago to pass on the cash to Bill Starnes and his co-workers for being the bright spot in little Grayson Horne’s day.

A house fire cost a woman her Orange Mound house and left neighborhood kids without one of their safe havens. The house was a popular spot to pick up snacks and some motherly advice, so community members reached out to WREG to see if they could Pass It On to Deidra Tuggle and help her rebuild. Tuggle is known as the Candy Lady in the neighborhood but a fire last month at the house on Cella Street forced her to move.
