SCRANTON, Pa. — Scranton firefighters took to the water Tuesday to rescue a man who somehow found himself floating along the Lackawanna River. The man, whose name was not disclosed, was spotted in the water just after 10 a.m. near the West Olive Street bridge. Rescuers got to work. At first, the man seemed intent on avoiding the fire crews. However, the rescuers soon passed him some safety gear and walked him out of the water and toward an ambulance. He then went to a hospital, authorities said.

SCRANTON, Pa. — In the back corner of the Washburn Street Cemetery, dozens of graves were cleared of overgrowth for Memorial Day. Making way for American flags to once again mark the headstones of those who served.
