SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Saginaw Valley State University men's cross country team finished 17th as a team in the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships on Saturday afternoon in Sacramento, California. The Cardinals compiled a total of 528 points to finish nine spots higher than last season and match the mark the team reached in 2022. Nicholas McArdle was the top finisher for SVSU as he crossed the finish line in 30 minutes and 55.9 seconds to place 62nd in the individual standings.

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University cross country teams competed at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship races hosted by Ferris State on Saturday. The Cardinal men's team finished second with 57 points while the women placed fourth with 123 points. Five men's student-athletes earned All-GLIAC teams while one women's runner earned All-GLIAC honors.

EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University cross country teams competed at the Auto-Owners Spartan Invitational hosted by Michigan State University on Friday. Both teams finished third in the race with the men scoring 80 points while the women's team finished with 118. Jack Lobodzinski led the way for the Cardinal men with a top-20 finish after placing 13th with a time of 25 minutes, 13.4 seconds.

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced the 2024 Men's and Women's Cross Country Preseason Coaches Poll on Thursday (August 29) afternoon. The Cardinal men accumulated one first-place vote to finish with 73 points and capture the runner-up position behind Grand Valley State who collected the other nine first-place votes to finish eight points ahead of SVSU.

UNIVERSITY CENTER, MICH. – Two titles and two school records were broken by the Saginaw Valley State University track & field teams on the first day of the GLIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday afternoon. Both Distance Medley Relay teams claimed conference crowns to end the first day of competition while Alona Olshevska and Quin Broussard each broke the 200m records during the prelims of the event.
