Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville said it received a report around 7 p.m. Friday of an overturned 18-foot vessel with four people on top of the vessel and four more people possibly underneath the boat.

JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – A newborn baby was found on the side of the road Friday and taken to a St. Johns County fire station, a spokesperson for the St. Johns County Fire Rescue Department said. According to the spokesperson, a woman, who is not the mother, told firefighters she found the newborn inside a box on the side of a road on Silverleaf Parkway. She then took the baby to Fire Station 17 on County Road 210, according to officials.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 27-year-old man accused of the murder of his father, who was found shot to death inside his Deercreek area home Wednesday, was set to appear in court Thursday morning. On Wednesday night, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Garry Charles Bartlett Jr., 27, and the victim as Garry Charles Bartlett Sr., 69. According to JSO, officers were called to a home on Fawn Lake Drive South after 8 a.m. Wednesday, in response to a person who had been shot.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was shot and killed early Thursday inside a business on Jacksonville’s Westside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. Police said they responded at 2 a.m. to Edgewood Avenue North, near West Beaver Street, after getting reports of a shooting. When they arrived, officers found a man inside a business suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The man died at the scene, JSO said.
