CATONSVILLE, MD — Cannabis businesses could soon use the vacant Catonsville Armory as a facility to kickstart their companies. Some Baltimore County residents are petitioning against the push, pointing to its proximity to a school and citing the minimal opportunity for public comment. Community member Josh Jackson recently launched a petition on change.org to voice his concerns. The petition had 520 signatures by 4:30 p.m. Friday.

FAIRHAVEN, MD — Scrolling through photos of the rubble, Shirley Miller pointed out appliances charred in the flames. "That's my kitchen. That's my refrigerator. My stove," the 70-year-old said. "That's amazing to look at that and think that used to be my house." Miller's Fairhaven home burned down earlier this spring, but her beloved dog made it out safely thanks to Anne Arundel County Firefighter Garrett Buranen.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — An Annapolis man was charged with murder six weeks after a fatal shooting, police announced Thursday. Officers said they arrested William Delonte Hairston, 33, in the April 23 death of Gregory Antonio Wells, 37. Court records show that Hairston was charged with first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, using a firearm in a violent crime and having a loaded handgun on his person. Authorities named Hairston as the suspect the day after the shooting.
