    MARYLAND — Wednesday, May 28, is National Hamburger Day, an unofficial holiday that celebrates America’s favorite sandwich. The origins of National Hamburger Day are unclear. The National Day Calendar said the origin of the hamburger itself is surrounded in controversy, but that it most likely first appeared in the 19th or early 20th centuries and has grown in popularity over the years. Last week, food website Chowhound said Abbey Burger Bistro has the best hamburgers in Maryland.

    EDGEWATER, MD — A popular restaurant group is opening two locations of a new mac and cheese shop in Anne Arundel County. The eateries will also serve a variety of chicken sandwiches and comfort food. Vivi's Chicken 'n Mac opened recently in Edgewater. It announced its debut in the South River Crossing shopping center on April 1. The fast-casual restaurant is also opening this spring in Arnold at 1272 Bay Dale Drive. The exact opening date hasn't been announced. Vivi's Edgewater seats 39 customers.

However, this doesn't come without a cost."
