Few places in the country can even hold a candle to the state of Michigan in the automotive industry. From innovations in the vehicles themselves to the roads they're driven on, Michigan led the way. Simply put, they don't call Detroit the Motor City for nothing. But that's common knowledge. While more attention does, in many ways, go to the Maize and Blue, the university in East Lansing is one of the most prestigious in the country, both academically and athletically.
