    Residents of a northern Alberta community have voted in favour of a bylaw banning Pride flags and rainbow crosswalks from municipal properties. Barrhead, located 120km NW of Edmonton says 1,145 votes were cast in the plebiscite, with 653 in favour of the proposed bylaw and 492 opposed to it. A petition for the bylaw received 712 signatures, the number was almost double what it needed to go to council.

    During Métis Week, the City of Edmonton alongside the Otipemisiwak Métis Government for the Métis Week Proclamation. In addition to the signing, this year’s event featured a milestone agreement; the re-establishment of a formal government-to-government relationship between the City of Edmonton and Otipemisiwak Métis Government through the signing of a new and revised Memorandum of Shared Recognition and Cooperation, the first official agreement between the two partners.

    RCMP are searching for a driver involved in a road rage incident, assaulting by-standers in the process in Hay Lakes. The attacks took place at 4:20pm on Saturday on Third Avenue in front of Hay Lakes School. According to RCMP, a group of people pulled up to a home, shortly after, a vehicle approached the group and a driver confronted them on their driving.

    RCMP in Grande Prairie are hoping the public can help assist their investigation with dash cam footage after a woman’s body was found dead. Crews say they received a report Monday afternoon of the body in a undeveloped area northwest of the city, she has yet to be identified. An autopsy has been scheduled for Wednesday. RCMP is seeking dashcam footage from people who may have driven 116 Street between 104 and 112 avenues between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Monday.

    Cold Lake RCMP are investigating after they found illegal guns seized from a house in the early hours on Monday. Crews were called to a home for a weapons complaint on the Cold Lake First Nations, after securing a search warrant, officers located an assortment of drugs and items used in drug trafficking. In addition to the illicit substances, crews found  loaded automatic AK-47 rifle, a STEN submachine gun with loaded magazine cartridges and two sawed-off shotguns.
