Health officials say there are 58 confirmed cases of measles in Alberta and that they are paying close attention to rising case counts within the south and central zones.     Spirit River RCMP are advising the public that a wanted individual they had been searching for, is now in custody. Forty-one-year-old Kyle Dale Hudson was brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody for 18 offences; 15 were related to the Woking search and another three stemmed from Grande Prairie.

    Fort St. John RCMP are alerting the public that there appears to be a toxic drug being distributed in the area. Between April 3 and April 9, Mounties were called to the scene of three sudden deaths where the cause was believed to be consistent with an opioid overdose. This comes after health advisory for the Northern Health region was issued in late March regarding a synthetic opiate known as isotonitazene which was found to be as potent or more potent then fentanyl.

    On Monday, March 24, 2025, members of the Peace Regional RCMP responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Highway 986 and Range Road 203 where a man was sleeping inside. Officers attended to the report and the driver took a Mandatory Alcohol Screening, which was passed, however, shortly after RCMP left as there were no charges identified at the time; The driver began driving erratically. Police located the driver and laid charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
