Tompkins County Consolidated Area Transit will introduce its summer schedule, prompting changes to its bus routes and pickup times from May 25 through August 16. Printed schedules are available upon request by calling TCAT at (607) 277-7433, emailing staff at [email protected], or mailing a request to TCAT, 737 Willow Ave., Ithaca, NY, 14850. Starting Monday, June 30, and running through Friday, August 15, TCAT's summer-only route 22 service will be in effect.

Ithaca College is gearing up for its 2025 Commencement at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, May 18, in the Glazer Arena at the Athletics and Events Center. The TC3 gymnasium will fill with degree-seeking students for thier commencement at 6 p.m. May 21. Graduates can bring no more than 5 guests to the ceremony, which will be livestreamed. Cornell University's 2025 Commencement will be held over the weekend of May 23-25, 2025. The main ceremonies will take place on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Schoellkopf Field.

Tompkins County Chief Sustainability Officer Terry Carroll presented statistics regarding the County’s energy use and expenses at the legislature's May 6 meeting. Although the county's electricity usage has decreased by nearly 2% since 2023 and its natural gas usage has decreased over 31%, that reduction is not reflected in the County’s energy costs. Facilities and Infrastructure Committee Chair Lee Shurtleff said on May 6 that roadwork is expected to increase in cost this year in Tompkins County.

Alt-rock group X Ambassadors released its debut album VHS in 2015, but the band announced yesterday the release of a reimagined version of the album, reworking some of its hit songs. X Ambassadors returned home last year with their newest album Townie in tow. It marked a new chapter for the band in its return to its upstate New York roots. In 2009, the band officially formed under the name Ambassadors. They played local gigs, honing their craft and building a loyal following.
