BEATRICE, Neb. - The history of Southeast Nebraska is being displayed through photography. The Gage County Museum and Historical Society in Beatrice recently opened their summer exhibit, "Looking at Gage County through photographs", a display showing the county's 170 year history. The exhibit features work from 40 photographers and features over 100 images. Images include events as recent as the Beatrice Dempster fire in March of this year and as old as class photos from the 1950's.

PICKRELL, Neb. - Not long ago, Cam Jurgens was one of the 201 residents that call Pickrell, NE. home. This Saturday, the Philadelphia Eagles starting center enter returned to his hometown for the annual Pickrell Picnic to sign autographs and take pictures with fans. “It’s been neat coming back here the last few years, just seeing everyone and Pickrell Days just seems to be growing every year,” Jurgens said.

BEATRICE, Neb. - Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl Champion and Pro Bowl center Cam Jurgens is getting a special honor from his alma mater. The Pickrell, NE. native and Beatrice High School alum, will have the field at the House of Orange dedicated in his honor on Friday, June 21, as part of Beatrice's Homestead Days fireworks night celebration. The venue will be known as Cam Jurgens Field at the House Of Orange.

BEATRICE, Neb. - Beatrice's new leader of the police force is off and running in his new role. Jay Murphy was named Beatrice Police Chief on April 21 and entered the job with 35 years of experience at the department. He also had recently spent time as the interim chief, something he says helped make the transition a smooth one. "A ton," Murphy said.
