LAC DU FLAMBEAU, Wis. (WJFW) – As the search continues for missing 37-year-old Lac du Flambeau woman Melissa Beson, her family is now speaking out in an effort to hopefully find her. Beson was last seen March 17on Indian Village Road in Lac du Flambeau, right near the home she shares with her family. Authorities have searched for clues between surveillance footage, social media, friends, bank statements and more.

WAUSAU, Wis. (WJFW) – A send-off dinner was held in Wausau earlier this evening for the Never Forgotten Honor Flight this week. “You need that opening to heal…and healing is what the Honor Flight does,” said Vietnam War Veteran Gary Koch, who spent over 40 years in the service. Koch lost three of his men while he was on Rest and Recuperation and experienced survivor’s guilt and nightmares for years. The Honor Flight tried multiple times to get him to come down to DC for the experience.

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WJFW) – The World’s Largest Trivia Contest is back at UWSP’s 90FM this weekend. The 54-hour trivia marathon asks 8 questions per hour and teams from all over the world have the length of two songs playing on the radio to submit their answers. “’Trivia 55: No Limit.’ And it is what the name is…it’s the world’s largest Trivia Contest,” station manager Derek Tritz said.

RHINELANDER, Wis. (WJFW) – There have been no active sulfide mines in Wisconsin for decades. But a mining moratorium was repealed by Governor Scott Walker in 2017. Since then, there has been some exploratory drilling, and the DNR recently approved another mineral exploration. The Canadian mining company GreenLight Metals was recently cleared for drilling in Taylor County’s Bend Deposit, which is believed to contain around 4 million tons of gold and copper.

WISCONSIN, USA (WJFW) - Protests aimed towards President Trump and Elon Musk called "Hands Off" erupted across the country today. Protesters also took to the streets of downtown Eagle River on East Wall Street and surrounding sidewalks. Protesters also fled to the front of the Rhinelander court house to picket in response to how the trump administration is handling various issues such as civil and human rights, public education, social services, immigration, the economy and much more.
