The total contract volume was $87 million, up from $74 million last week. During the same week last year, there were 14 contracts signed for $45.5 million. The townhouse at 600 2nd Street spans 4,500 square feet and has six bedrooms and four full bathrooms.

A longtime New York City brokerage executive is taking a step back. Hall Willkie announced he will be stepping down as president of Brown Harris Stevens in an internal memo sent to the company on Monday, effective July 1. Willkie will start a six-year contract as a consultant with BHS residential sales. Willkie has been with the firm for 37 years and overseen its growth from a single office into one of the city’s top residential brokerages.

The Gilded Age home was one of 29 properties asking at least $4 million with contracts — eight houses and 21 condos — signed last week in Manhattan, according to Olshan’s weekly report. The borough ended May with 183 luxury contracts, the second-highest total since tracking began in 2006.
