Members of the Pennsylvania Public Transportation Association are gathering at the state Capitol to call for more funding for public transit. It's all in support of Gov. Josh Shapiro's proposal to invest $292 million in new transit funding next year. Rabbittransit, which serves 11 counties, including Dauphin, supports this proposal, but it is calling on the General Assembly to support the investments as well.

Business leaders will hold a town hall Thursday on the lack of child care access for its employees in Cumberland County. It's hosted by the Cumberland County Commission for Women. Employers say a lack of affordable child care access for working parents leads to a decline in their performance and early learning issues for children. It's a domino effect they hope to find solutions for in a town hall that dozens are expected to attend.

At the Pennsylvania State Capitol, transportation officials will host a distracted driving demonstration to teach about the dangers of handling your phone while behind the wheel. It's all to remind drivers about Paul Miller's Law, which takes effect June 5. Pennsylvania already has a ban on texting while driving, but that's as far as the restrictions on cell phone use go-- for now. With Paul Miller's Law, you won't even be able to hold a phone behind the wheel.
