Pretty sure I’ve told you what a disappointment it was when I figured out that PR firms pitched stories to magazines, trying to get them to feature products. I mean, I’ve always worshiped magazines, and I genuinely thought that everything editors wrote was just what they loved and their own ideas.

Good morning everyone. I think it’s time to revisit the idea of a Feed Me poker tournament. This isn’t the Vegas talking. This is the FOMO I’m feeling from the Cartier-sponsored poker game talking. I don’t want to play a women-only game. I don’t want to play a game with first-time players. I kick each month off with a little life update by way of a Sample Platter: What I’m reading, something I recently bought, something I’m looking forward to... An amuse bouche to set the tone for the next few weeks. But first, I have some news: I made a magazine! The first ever print issue of À La Carte is here and I’m so, so excited to share it with you. This mini magazine is filled with enough holiday cheer to get you to 2025 and beyond.

Working in social media, I am always interested to see what posts people share as examples of smart, creative work. What are the themes in the content that’s shared? Which industries pop up over and over again? Last year, it felt like beauty was the blueprint. This year, I can’t seem to escape fashion—and, more specifically, menswear. I will caveat this by saying I am not a fashion expert, and I am certainly not a menswear expert. I report on what I see.
