Of 93 banks in the Kansas City area, 80.7% saw annual growth in their loan portfolio in 2024, according to data from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. Nationwide lending by banks with a metro-area presence grew only 1.48% during that same period, to a total of $4.53 trillion. So most local banks remained willing to grow their loan portfolios in 2024, but which ones were the most aggressive in pursuing that growth? No. 10: Academy Bank, up 15.04%.
