Steve Brooks, who works as a plant fitter and delivery driver for Cross Plant Hire and has been with the business for two and a half years, claimed the prize with ticket number 24295. The company, based in Whalley Road, Shuttleworth, is an official supporter of the draw, with it holding 10 tickets since June last year. All of the tickets are allocated to staff. When Steve was told he won, he was "genuinely surprised and really happy".

Gillian Blair and Nathan Mertens met in 2015 while studying at the Université Européenne de Saxophone in Gap, France They recently made their debut performance together in Tokyo, Japan, and this week's performance at Bury Parish Church is part of their UK 2025 concert tour. The pair have commissioned several new works for two saxophones and piano from composers including Lucy Armstrong (UK), Zack Browning (America), Rob Buckland (UK) and Andrew Boss (America).

Funded by the government (£1.9m) and Bury Council (£900,000), the enterprise centre in Radcliffe will provide "much-needed flexible working space, along with meeting rooms and business support services". The Radcliffe Library building site in Stand Lane will also help small businesses start up and grow. The conversion will begin after a site compound has been established to support the contractor’s day-to-day operations.

Whitefield Cllr Noel Bayley took over the chains of office from North Mayor Cllr Khalid Hussein at the council's annual meeting yesterday, Wednesday. Cllr Bayley was born in Withington and grew up in Wythenshawe, where he went to school. After leaving sixth form college, he started work with the Keep Britain Tidy Group before moving to London to work at the Ministry of Defence, and has mainly worked in the civil service and local government ever since.

Adele's role involves diligently organising funding for children with special educational needs or those who do not access mainstream education. She has served in the vital role for the past two years and has dedicated 17 years to the local authority. Adele was "absolutely thrilled" when she was told she had won.
