The break-ins happened in Tottington, Greenmount and Holcombe Brook on Tuesday, June 24 from 1am to 6am. The stretch of Bolton Road North between Robert Street and Croft End Place was closed at 11.30am while United Utilities replaced three manhole covers. The road is expected to reopen before 3pm, meaning rush hour commuter traffic should not be affected.

A list of the projected change in population for local areas in England between mid-2022 and mid-2032, has been published by the Office for National Statistics. Bury's population in mid-2022 was 194,590 and is forecasted to increase by 2.1 per cent by mid-2032 (198,669).
